Redesigning a PowerPoint Presentation

Here we gonna take a quick look at the process of designing and updating the PowerPoint presentation.

Things to know before starting:
• Goal of the presentation (informational, sales pitch, educational, etc.)
• Audience (certain professionals, age group, interest, etc)
• Style guide or any direction regarding the use of existing company style / colours / templates / assets

After receiving the initial deck and the brief from the client, i normally go through the outline and organize the slides into the flow that i think presents the information best.

This will help keep various slides visually consistent and divide up the information in a way that’s easy to follow for the audience.

I not a believer into starting the project with a template first. After all, the content is what should drive the look and feel of the presentation deck, not the preset templates.
As such, I start creating rough graphics and layout of the slides first.
The goal is to have the information presented on a slide in a easy to understand, clean, and easy to follow way. The polishing and details and other visual bling comes afterwards.
